Introduction
- CEELT has been commissioned by the Hong Kong Education Bureau to organise the annual In-service Programme for Guangdong English Teachers for 5 consecutive years since 2011. In the 3-week programme, 40 Guangdong primary or secondary English teachers participate in various professional development activities for enhancing their English teaching.
Aims
The programme aims to enable the participating teachers to:
- keep abreast of the latest trends in English language learning and teaching
- have a deeper understanding of the latest theories of teaching English as a second language
- translate theories of language teaching into classroom practices
- select and adapt e-learning resources to enhance language learning and teaching
- develop skills in designing school-based English Language curriculum to suit the needs of their students
- reflect on their teaching
