Introduction
- In 2006, the Education Bureau introduced the English Enhancement Scheme (EES) for CMI schools (using Chinese as the medium of instruction) to further enhance the learning and teaching of English.
- CEELT was then commissioned by 4 secondary schools to provide professional consultancy on their school-based EES projects:
Caritas Chai Wan Marden Foundation Secondary School (CCM)
Caritas Chong Yuet Ming Secondary School (CCYM)
Caritas Fanling Chan Chun Ha Secondary School (CFS)
Caritas Wu Cheng-chung Secondary School (CWCC)
- In addition, CEELT was also engaged in some other schools’ EES projects but in a smaller scale.
Aims
The project aimed to enhance the English language education of the client schools through provision of professional consultancy services.
Project scope
- Professional development workshops for English language teachers
- Lesson observation and feedback
- Professional consultancy on developing teaching packages
- Various student activities, e.g. Poem Festivals and English Camps
- Experiential sharing sessions
